So disgusting! I was halfway through my meal when I spotted something that looked like an insect leg or part of a cockroach. I brought it to the staff counter, but they just rinsed it off and ignored the issue. The staff’s attitude was terrible. I’m definitely never coming back!

I had my first mala tang at this restaurant chain, and it was quite disappointing. The selection was limited, and the beef had an overpowering taste. Payment had to be made individually, and we had to pick up the food ourselves. The condiments weren’t replenished, so we had to ask the staff for assistance. Overall, it felt more like a fast food experience but with restaurant-level prices.

Definitely have had better MLT elsewhere.
This place wont be the best you have ever had, but it definitely wont be the worst.
It is decent MLT, fairly good tasting.
Not a great selection to pick from and condiments quite limited.
It wont be my go to place for MLT, but if i am around the area and want something like this, then better than no choice.

When I went there around 9.20pm, I asked the staff is it still open. He said yes still open but gave me a unhappy looking face, so I order for a dry set and paid for it. But when I reached home and open it , I found that my food was not really cooked. It's wet and taste not good. I felt that if you are rushing to close at that time, then don't take order. If you want to take order please keep your food at the standard and not anyhow cook. This is my first and last time visiting this shop.

We really like the mala here because it’s not oily like the usual ones but still super flavourful. The medium spice level is just right—you can even eat it without needing water. That said, the staff? Rude af. I get that there’s no service charge, but seriously?
Condiments are usually cleared by 8:30pm, and we’ve eaten here about three times now. Last order is supposed to be at 9:30pm with closing at 10pm, but the staff always starts packing up the ingredients by 9:15pm. One time, we were still eating around 9:20pm+, and a guy walked in but got turned away.
And twice now—TWO times—an elderly man (maybe in his 40s-50s) came over between 9:20pm+ and 9:30pm+ and told us to “快点吃” (hurry up and eat). WORD OF ADVICE: just change the last order to 8:30pm and put up a HUGE ASS NOTICE telling customers to gtfo by 9:30pm.
I get that people want to go home early, but chasing customers out 30 minutes before closing? That’s NOT good customer service ya. Honestly, even if they change the last order timing, I bet the staff would still start rushing people out by 9pm. The staff here… I’m honestly speechless lol.

I wish it could be zero star for this outlet. The taste of the picked vegetable soup is so weird and the fish ball taste like it already keep for few days!
Had went before Clementi & Yishun outlet but AMK outlet was different with the other.

paid $50 for these 2 bowls of very sad mala… very little ingredients but it was $32/kg which i felt was quite mid/below average. definitely better malas out there. pork belly also wasn’t cleaned properly? won’t return…

We arrived 10 mins before 9pm and the staff approached us if are we going to eat there and when we said yes, he sigh very loud and gave us a very irritated face and went back to the kitchen. We ordered for the ingredients to be fried but nothing is fried. We paid $35 and we expect better service than that. It is clearly stated at the entrance that last order us at 9.30pm and you close at 10pm. To be there before 9pm, we didn't expect such service! Those after us, they didn't allow to order at all.

First time trying this place. Came on weekday at 1pm was not crowded compare to weekend lunch / dinner when you have to wait for at least 30 min to be seated as the place is rather small. Everything is self service from picking food to payment n collection of food.
Overall
1. Pork Bone soup was good 👍🏻
2. Food arrange and cleanse is good. 👍🏻
3. Staff is friendly but not helpful on explain the process of it as a first timer. 😞
4. Long waited for food to be prepare over 30min upon order when there is no crowd.😠
5. Staff inside the kitchen were talking n playing. No sense of urgency on food preparing.😖
6. Price was alright about the same as coffee shop type. They charge by gram on all item in regardless of Meat, Veg or etc😌
I will come back again only if is not crowded n willing to wait while I’m not in a rush.😅

the food taste really good, the broth smelly very nice and appetising!! Been here to eat several times and with my friends. But in my opinion sometimes I find that the tomato soup diluted, which the soup suppose be thick. The service is good and the guy working there, is very friendly and helpful. The pricing is also really affordable and worth it!!

Gong Yuan Mala Tang has been one of my favorite dining spots. The soup is flavorful, and the variety of ingredients is impressive. The staff provide excellent service, and special compliments to Wen Jie for his professionalism and attentive service.

I really enjoyed the food at Gong Yuan Ma La Tang 宫源麻辣烫! The flavors were spot on, and their sesame sauce is definitely a favorite of mine. However, the seating is very limited, which means customers who want to dine in often have to wait a long time outside the shop. The queue is always long, especially during dinner hours, and can get quite overwhelming. It would be great if they could expand the space to improve the dining experience. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for ma la tang if you’re prepared for the wait!

1st time trying this place. Rather impressed with the mala soup base, not oily at all. Max spiciness is not really spicy for us though. Love their concept of free flow kimchi 😋
