i have no idea what might have motivated or pushed the owners to make such a ridiculous decision to "re-vamp" the entire menu and change the concept to a halal establishment. there was literally no need for such a change. nothing was broken yet they wanted to fix something. the photos in the review were from a long time ago when they were what i consider to be some of the best, not just taiwanese food, but food in general you could find in all of singapore. As someone who cooks and works in F&b, whoever designed the previous menu and the chefs who cooked the food day in and out were extremely skilled. aside from their famous dumplings, the dou miao and the steam chicken is what i would say is their signature food. extremely simple yet technical food. i can go on forever on why its amazing but its no longer available due to stupid decisions made along the way. will no longer be patronising this brand anymore.

The beef was tough like a piece of rubber, can't bite into it at all. The soup is salty with no beef stocks taste. The good thing is the noodles, springy and nice.

First time here.. surprisingly enjoyed the tender beef tendon noodle, pickles, lao gan ma and Aiyu jelly dessert. Appreciated the warm service from Manager Tan, will definitely be back!

Food: We ordered the braised beef noodle soup and the dry beef noodle. The noodle soup was pretty good, soup was flavourful but not too salty. The dry noodles flavour was also not bad. However the beef was really not up to par. There are beef chunks and the round sliced beef in both dishes. The beef chunks are super tender but the beef slices are TOUGH. There are more beef slices than beef chunks in the dry noodles, but since the beef slices are super tough, barely any could be eaten. Even be tearing it into smaller pieces it’s really hard to chew. There’s even one slice of beef from the beef soup that couldn’t even be torn apart by both utensils and teeth. I doubt it could even break apart unless you use scissors. As both dishes cost 13.80, I expect more pieces of edible beef but there isn’t. Honestly kinda disappointing cuz I’ve heard some good things about this place.
The menu also looks different from what I have seen online, the dumplings variety has shrunk and there isn’t any braised pork rice anymore.
Conclusion: I guess it’s okay but nothing to rave about. The tough beef was really disappointing.

Ordered the braised beef soup and the dried noodles version and signature dumplings. Both were great! Service is good as well :) Will return for sure!
